Paul R. Johnson
Pastor
So, you're probably on this page because you found yourself asking, "Who is the bald guy that talks a lot?" So, let me introduce myself.
I'm Paul and I have been given the tremendous opportunity of serving the FBC family as their pastor. This means that I have been given a front row seat to watch God transform the lives of men, women and children through the truth of His Word and the power of His Spirit. And you know what? I can't think of any place else I would rather be.
One of my favorite phrases in all of Scripture is, "But God." Typically, whenever we see these words, God has, or is about to, interject Himself into a person's life and situation. I refer to these as a "But God Moment." As a pastor, I get to see these moments all of the time. I get to be there when God reveals His love to the unbeliever, His mercy to the fallen, His joy to the brokenhearted, His peace to troubled, His healing to the sick and His grace to the repentant.
The reason I am able to bear witness to such moments is because I am the result of numerous "But God Moments." At just the right time, when decisions needed to be made about matters of faith, values, schooling and career, God placed the right people in my life to help reveal His plan for me. Thankfully, these people were obedient to the calling God had placed on their lives and they mentored me. Now, it is my turn to be obedient and to come alongside those God is transforming. I am thankful to God for the privledge of serving Him and my FBC family.
I am joined in ministry by my loving wife, Janice. She and I have partnered in marriage and ministry for the past 20 years. We also share our lives with three beautiful girls, Kristianna, Makenna and Kjersten.
When I am not busy preaching and teaching, I love to be outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, rollerblading, boating, canoeing, snowmobiling, skiing and just about anything else you can do outdoors. Indoors, I like to read (strictly non-fiction to the dismay of my wife) and I love to watch movies. Oh! And I love to eat, so apparently this means I also love to run.
If you are wondering how to get in tight with a pastor (at least this one anyway), it is going to involve at least one of two things:
- M&M's (plain - no reason to mess with a good thing)
- Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream
